National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30. Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.

NaNo Los Angeles

NaNoWriMo has various home regions across the world. Think of regions as Hogwarts houses–there’s Griffyndor, Slytherin, and NaNo Los Angeles! The most glamorous region of NaNoWriMo writing legend. Where else can you find Hollywood, celebrities, lemur mascots, endless fun in the sun, and a tidal wave of traffic? With 5 fabulous municipal liaisons (MLs), Los Angeles is one of the largest regions participating in NaNoWriMo, with nearly 16,000 members as of 2016. Meet the Systems: Stories of Regimes, Formulas & Schemes published through 1667 Press marks the third annual NaNo Los Angeles short story anthology.
